Custom Report Designer Errors

If you are receiving errors while opening a template, the following is a list of possible reasons and solutions to try:
 

If the Report just does not open:

1. Make sure Alocet PDF Write is installed

2. Un-instal and Re-install the Alocet PDF Writer

3. Make Firewall exceptions for the Custom Report Designer
 

“Switch to” error / “Customer Report Designer is already open, use it or close it” error:

1. First start the task manager and go to processes and “end process” for any instance of the “CustRptDesigner

2. Try closing Qxpress and re-starting Qxpress

3. Re-start the computer

4. Check the tech article “Steps to Update a Data Source”

5. Make sure all reports listed in article are downloaded

6. Make sure all parts of the report are open to the latest data source

7. Make exceptions in the Firewall and Anti-Virus Software for Qxpress

 

Run a database repair

1. To do this you must be the only computer logged into Qxpress. Please note that a Database Repair can also take an hour or more to complete depending on database size.

2. Go to File > Repair Database

3. Hit YES to the first prompt

4. Hit YES to the second prompt (may take several minutes before prompt appears)

5. Wait for message “database repair successful” then hit OK
